Continued from Hong Kong Day 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our bodies are sore from such a long day yesterday. Today is a recovery day, and the weather forecast is for a whole day of rain and thunderstorms. Seems like a perfect day to sleep in until late morning.<\/p>\n

\nYeah…so much for all day rain.<\/p>\n

\nDespite the dry weather, Victoria Peak is still well hidden in the clouds today. Lucked out with the short window of clear weather yesterday. We saw that opportunity and seized it and saw HK from Victoria Peak with no cloud blinding us.<\/p>\n

\nWe need to do some housekeeping items today. Baby needs more solid food and baby wipes. We also need to do laundry, but after looking at the laundry list….no thank you. I think it was something like $8 for a tshirt. EEK!<\/p>\n

\"DSC09830\"<\/a> There’s a laundromat in Chungking Mansions, but when we did a quick walk around, we couldn’t find it, and RL thought the building too shady to take a closer look,\u00a0so I guess we’ll wait until Taiwan to do laundry.<\/p>\n

\nLaundry is out, but there’s a grocery store inside this shopping center in the basement level. Our baby’s clothes may smell like sour milk, but at least she won’t go hungry and her butt will be clean.<\/p>\n

\n$10 strawberries, anyone? Actually, that’s not so bad. I’ve seen this same amount of strawberries for closer to $50 in Japan.<\/p>\n

\nWish we also got the awesome frozen seafood option at our local HEB.<\/p>\n

\nMy new life as a father, shopping for baby food. Pretty good selection over here.<\/p>\n

\nLay’s, not so much. Where are all the funky flavors from China?<\/p>\n

\nAnother view of Chungking Mansions. Maybe one of these days, I’ll explore the inner bowels of the buildings and all the shady things that are happening there.<\/p>\n

\nRecovery day means lunch at the hotel restaurant. No complaints here. I still suck at taking a nonblurry photo apparently.<\/p>\n

\nAunt J tries baby food for the first time and loves it. She ended up buying another pouch for herself to eat later in the day…<\/p>\n

\nOops…we ordered way too much food. It took an effort to eat most of it. So good though! Their BBQ pork and roast goose is to die for!<\/p>\n

\nAfter lunch, baby was left with the grandparents for babysitting duties. RL, JL and JL’s girlfriend HL went shopping. I headed up to the top floor lounge to blog and read.<\/p>\n

\nSweet, first one up here, still empty. Let me pick a good seat now.<\/p>\n

\nNot a shabby view of Hong Kong Harbor and all the skyscrapers.<\/p>\n

\nYes please. $10 beer, expensive, but so worth it.<\/p>\n

\nEnjoying the view. The forecast failed miserably, did not rain at all today even though it was supposed to rain all day. Victoria Peak never did clear from the cloud cover though, so that\u00a0still makes me feel good about visiting yesterday.<\/p>\n

\nA few hours of chilling later, it’s time to head out for dinner. We made reservations at a Michelin 2 star restaurant within walking distance.<\/p>\n

\nThe restaurant is located in the basement floor of Shangri La Hotel.<\/p>\n

\nSwank. Even though it’s swank, they had a pretty relaxed dress code. I think their only requirement was no open toe shoes and no shorts.<\/p>\n

\nGood mood…for now. Bib on and gets to eat before everyone. My daughter is so cute.<\/p>\n

PL started losing it due to being tired. I spent majority of the meal eating standing up with PL asleep in her carrier. So tired, and back so sore!<\/p>\n

\nVery good, but Peking duck in Beijing at Da Dong is still better.<\/p>\n

Michelin 2 star, sure, but I wasn’t overly impressed. I wonder if Michelin rating has slipped and they’ll just give anyone Michelin stars now….Then again, Din Tai Fung is rated 1 star, and it’s AMAZING!<\/p>\n

\nDespite not doing much of anything today, we are still tired. Still recovering from the past week of traveling with baby.<\/p>\n

\"DSC09901\"<\/a>Too tired to walk up to the harbor to take a photo of the lit up skyscrapers. Cut corner and went up to the top floor of the hotel for this photo. There’s some reflection on the glass from the bar, but good enough. Tired, must go to bed since tomorrow will be another travel day.<\/p>\n
