\nBH and I took the “historic steps” to the river front level.<\/p>\n

\nThe girls had to come down with this faux cobble stone ramp. It’s just slightly smoother than real cobble stone to allow a stroller to come down without shaking itself apart.<\/p>\n

\nAh, time for some tourist traps!<\/p>\n

\nThe other side of the river seems to be a convention center and a hotel…kinda boring.<\/p>\n

\nLook at how steep these stairs are! They are about twice as tall as normal steps. Though, I will say, not all the historic steps were like this. This was the more extreme ones.<\/p>\n

\nTime to get an early dinner here on the river front. These old buildings have low doors.<\/p>\n

\nFinally PL could not be contained to her high hair anymore, so the girls all went out to look at the shops while BH and I finished our beers and waited for the check.<\/p>\n

\nIn a candy store and doesn’t even know it. She’s never had candy before in her life, so doesn’t know what she’s missing yet.<\/p>\n

\nThis will do for me. Good ol’ trusty ice cream.<\/p>\n

\"DSC05607\"<\/a>According to the 2015 census, Savannah is 55% black, but you would never guess it by walking around in the historical area of Savannah. It looks to be 98% white here and I am guessing most tourists here are white. I’ve been warned that Savannah could be dangerous if you are on the wrong block, but I haven’t seen it yet. I am guessing much of the historic district has been gentrifying.<\/p>\n

\nBack to the hotel to put the girls to bed, then BH and I will head out for a beer or two.<\/p>\n

\nWe got back to our hotel and the second room had opened up. Guess what! They had a room open right next to our other room; this means that we can split the kids up while they go to bed, and then move them into the same room after they fall asleep. Cool cool.<\/p>\n

\nTime to grab a chill drink now that the two girls are in their cribs. Walked by The Olde Pink House, it’s a very popular restaurant and only one block from our hotel. RL wants to eat here, but we shall see if we have time later.<\/p>\n

\nReally expensive tuition!<\/p>\n

\nFound our bar.<\/p>\n

\nBH wanted to watch the NCAA Basketball tourney, so we found a sports bar.<\/p>\n

\nI don’t think I’ve been to any bar where they had a higher density of TVs.<\/p>\n

\nThe second floor of the bar. Literally lining the wall with TVs. Wow.<\/p>\n

After our one drink and appetizer, we decided that while we are in Savannah, we might as well go have our next drink at another bar and check it out. So, I pulled out my trusty phone, pulled out Yelp and found another bar around the corner from us.<\/p>\n

\nHere it is! Oh wait, it’s actually the bar of The Olde Pink House.<\/p>\n

\nStanding room only, but this will do. The hostess asked us if we wanted to wait for a table. We said that we were only getting drinks so it’s ok. But she suggested that we should just put our name down in case we changed our minds. Sure, why not.<\/p>\n

\nMy frou frou drink on the right, the Pink Lady. Pretty good and strong for a pink drink.<\/p>\n

\nAs we started drinking, we started talking more and decided to order another round of drinks. We also found some seats on the bar, cool. At this point, the hostess came by and said that she had a table open up, which we declined. Then she mentioned that it was in the tavern underground and it was one of their most requested spaces and everything was candle lit….errr, what? I thought that this bar was the tavern, but apparently this is just another bar within The Olde Pink House. Well, we’ve ordered our drinks…so might as well go down and check it out.<\/p>\n

\nWoah, too cool! Photos can’t do this place justice, it’s magical and out of this world!! Especially magical after we’ve already downed 3 drinks!<\/p>\n

\nAh, live music.<\/p>\n

\nI will say, the clientele here is of an older crowd. Mostly probably 40s and up. Then again, I don’t think Savannah is on top of the vacation list for many in their 20s.<\/p>\n

\nEnjoying our drinks in this cool underground space. I need to find a way to take RL back here tomorrow so that she could enjoy this as well. This place is right up her alley!<\/p>\n

\nOK, last drink then go back to sleeping children.<\/p>\n

\nApparently this is the entrance to the tavern. We should have gone down the stairs under the sign instead of around the building to the other bar. Tomorrow, I’ll figure out how I can score a table to come back here with RL while somehow getting the kids to bed, etc. Kind of cool how the night started with just a beer at a sports bar and then ended up randomly getting a table at one of the most popular restaurants in Savannah. Love it when just by keeping doors open, it leads to pleasant surprises.<\/p>\n
