\nAfter a good night’s rest, everyone seems to be in a better mood. We are, of course, the loudest people here. We will spend the last 4 days of our trip in the same hotel, which will be nice. It’s also a good room with a full kitchen and a separate bedroom from the living room, where the kids will be sleeping on the fold out bed.<\/p>\n

\nOutside Starbucks, which was a short two block walk from hotel. Gotta have my cold brew.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nHow do you keep 3 kids occupied for a few minutes? Show them videos of themselves.<\/p>\n

\nWalking around Little Italy in San Diego. Our hotel is located in Little Italy, which makes dining options very convenient.<\/p>\n

\nCan’t avoid Shen Yun.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nThis girl loves to pose for photos. None of us taught her that, this is all her.<\/p>\n

\nDon’t touch that, tons of dogs pee on it. There are a lot of dog owners here in this part of San Diego.<\/p>\n

\nA few blocks away from our hotel is the Waterfront Park, and they have this amazing playground. It’s a lifesaver. Our plan is to take the kids to this playground every morning and let them get some energy out before we go about our mystery activity for the day.<\/p>\n

\nBeautiful weather. While the weather is nice here, much of the rest of the country is having an awful cold spell. I believe the temperature got into the low teens even at Austin. We lucked out that we flew out of Austin right when the cold front hit. Due to all the cold weather and snow, flights got cancelled all over the nation. Hopefully by the time we leave here in a few days, all the flight cancellations would have been sorted.<\/p>\n

\nBack at the hotel getting everyone prepped for our mystery activity for the day.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s go! The shitty part about our hotel is that parking is valet only and it’s $50 a day!! What a rip off!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nWe asked them earlier to guess where we are going today. They guessed beach because of the hats. Then RL told them a clue about some toy that they play with a lot at home. Of course, they immediately guessed Legoland…but we just played dumb and made them keep guessing. Then I told them that the playground that we went to was our actual mystery activity to try to throw them off the scent. Either way, RL isn’t allowed to give them clues anymore.<\/p>\n

\nFocus.<\/p>\n

\nWe asked the kids to read the signs to figure out where we were going, but they couldn’t read the signs fast enough to sound it out.<\/p>\n

\nLegoland isn’t super big, seems to be manageable. Kids figured out it was Legoland as we were pulling into parking lot and they saw all sorts of Lego displays. They had asked to come visit Legoland out of the blue for the first time several weeks ago because they saw Ryan on Youtube visit Legoland. We decided then that we are taking Youtube app off their ipads.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\nLine to get into the park. We are here not long right after the park opened, hopefully lines inside aren’t long.<\/p>\n

\nAlmost there.<\/p>\n

\nAnd, we are in.<\/p>\n

\nWaiting in line for our first rollercoaster ride. Little KL didn’t want to do anymore rollercoasters. We waited maybe 5min for the ride, not bad.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s do this. Pretty mild, but the girls enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

\nNice, a big playscape for the kids in the middle of Legoland. I’m surprised this isn’t more Lego themed. Legoland seems pretty chill so far.<\/p>\n

\nWaited maybe 10min for our next ride.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\nLunch time!! Let’s take a photo immediately right when RL puts food in her mouth.<\/p>\n

\nGiant version of the classic fishing game. They both won the small prize, and neither were happy about it. It was $10 a prize, they better be happy with it!<\/p>\n

\nSomewhere along the way, I promised them a treat for something. Ice cream it is.<\/p>\n

\nNext ride for the girls. This wait was quite a while, maybe 30min. Little KL didn’t wanna ride, so I stayed behind with him and we visited some little play house with pneumatic cannons that fire little foam balls.<\/p>\n

\nI could probably spend hours looking at all the little details.<\/p>\n

\nOK, taking it more chill today, time to call it quits. Some shopping, then head back to hotel.<\/p>\n

\nLegoland was a success. Kids probably enjoyed this place more than Disneyland.<\/p>\n

\nHappy to have been to Legoland. Calling it a day before kids gets too tired is the key.<\/p>\n

\nThe parents are tired too and could use a drink now. We put the kids in the living room with a movie on so we could chill in a little sitting corner we made for ourselves in the bedroom. This is as good as it gets for us on this trip on getting some separation from the kids.<\/p>\n

\nLittle punk thinks he’s so badass.<\/p>\n

\nTime for dinner, since we are in Little Italy, Italian food it is. Bonus being a super easy two block walk from hotel.<\/p>\n

\nStaying on theme, Negroni.<\/p>\n

\nActually invented by Italian immigrant in Mexico.<\/p>\n

\nBasic Italian fare…except RL had veal.<\/p>\n

\nEarlier today while walking around Little Italy, we saw some barber shops. Ever since then, RL has been on a mission to get little KL his first ever professional haircut.<\/p>\n

\nHe seems to be enjoying himself.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nHalfway done.<\/p>\n

\nMeanwhile, I went walking around with the girls looking for anything shiny.<\/p>\n

\nPost haircut lollipop. He’s already messed up his hair.<\/p>\n

\nDoes look more grown up with shorter hair. Now when he does some punk ass kid stuff, he just looks like a punk ass kid. Before, he was a dorky kid doing punk ass kid stuff.<\/p>\n

\nAt the courtyard of our hotel, they’ve got giant jenga and foosball. The kids have been eager to play both.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nThe first ever L family foosball match. They were so excited, and the kids screamed so loud in excitement as we played. I won this first match with PL as my teammate. Winning.

\nNow, back to Jenga, a pretty chill way to close out the day.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nToday went much better than yesterday. I think the rest and just a slower pace really helped everyone enjoy their time. Onto the next mystery for tomorrow.<\/p>\n
