\nIt really is kind of built like a palace, just crazy details everywhere. This was once the house of Spain’s richest person.<\/p>\n

\nThis was my favorite part of the house, all those little sky lights up high. Reminds me of a Turkish bath dome.<\/p>\n

\nThere’s even a whole organ in here. RL thought this whole room was a in-house chapel because of the alter and organ. The room was three stories high with windows opening to the second and third stories, this way the music could be heard throughout the who house. I bet it was really impressive sounding.<\/p>\n

\nUp on the roof, all these colorful chimneys. Probably the part of the house that’s the most “Gaudi”.<\/p>\n

\nAlright, that’s that for Guell Palace. If not for the roof chimneys, I don’t think I would ever peg this as a Gaudi designed house. RL really enjoyed seeing Gaudi’s early work though.<\/p>\n

\nRL and I both took a photo of the pigeon foot print from the puddle. We got in the way of other pedestrians to take a photo of this….we probably seemed like idiots.<\/p>\n

\nThis has been the weather forecast essentially the whole time we’ve been in Spain. It’s just perfect!<\/p>\n

\nAfter Guell Palace, it’s time to do some packing. Here’s all the souvenirs for our family that we’ve collected. Then a short nap and out for dinner and drinks at our favorite bar. Tomorrow we head home.<\/p>\n

\nSeems like a nice liberal statement…if you’ve never opened your eyes to the world. Fuck borders until it’s Putin who says it, then it’s not so righteous anymore.<\/p>\n

\nWalked by our favorite bar on the way to dinner. We’ll come back to it, don’t worry.<\/p>\n

\nWe tried again to eat here tonight, even came right when they opened, but nope still no go. It’s a full house and reservations only. Doh.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s try this dinner spot around the corner from the other spot then.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll miss these croquette when I go back to Austin.<\/p>\n

\nI’m still pretty full from our late lunch, and wanted to save room for late night kebabs, so just one rice soup dish for both of us. RL wanted lobster, so we got lobster.<\/p>\n

\nI need this in my life.<\/p>\n

\nPart way through dinner, this group of diners came in. It quickly became evident that they were drunk….very drunk. They started dancing in the restaurant and knocked over things left and right. Finally, they decided to take their dancing outside in the streets…<\/p>\n

\nYum. This one was a female, even had some eggs in it. Wonder why its tail wasn’t notched, or maybe it just slipped through the notching process.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAs a parting gift, our waiter offered us a digestif on the house. It’s some sort of Spanish liquor made from grapes with different flavors. Cool, we’ll try it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAfter dinner, back to our favorite bar. They don’t play any music here. It’s just the sound of conversations. And on that note, none of the tapas bars that we’ve been to plays anything other than popular English language music from all eras.<\/p>\n

\nI’m so gonna miss this spot when we leave tomorrow. This is our table, we’ve sat at this same spot for all 3 visits.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nWe were supposed to take it easy tonight, but I think we may end up going out with a bang.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nYeah, definitely not taking it easy tonight. Might as well keep going.<\/p>\n

\nSeriously, East Austin 15 years ago felt just like this. I miss it.<\/p>\n

\nRL wanted to move to the bar and join in some conversations, so we did.<\/p>\n

\nEnded up talking to some friends of the bartender. A Delta airlines pilot and his British wife from Atlanta. They told us they come back to this bar twice every year.<\/p>\n

\nSuch a simple bar, but it’s got everything it needs. After talking more to the bar tenders, we found out this bar is featured in a movie, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and that the bartender who has worked there for 15 year was in the background. Both bartenders have actually worked here a long time, the gentleman in this photo has been here for 9 years and is an incredible nice person.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s Wednesday, and they close early at midnight. We asked the bartenders for a photo, and they asked us to come around the bar and even poured us some tequila shots as a parting gift. Seriously, this bar is awesome.<\/p>\n

\nNo better end to a night of partying in Europe without closing it out with some doner kebap. I wish they made kebaps taste as good in Austin as they do here in Europe.<\/p>\n

\nEwww, someone peed in it.<\/p>\n

\nWhile we were at Guell Palace gift shop there was a book on Catalan modernism and on that cover was the mural in our hotel lobby. We came back from a night of partying and noticed the plaque that’s in the hotel lobby.<\/p>\n

\nApparently this was an original work by Ramon Casas and it’s was created in 1900. Way cool.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThis balcony has been awesome for us.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nTime for super delicious drunken kebaps.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nRL had ordered a falafel kebap, but when I handed her the one she ordered, she kept on saying that I gave her the wrong one. No, I am 100% sure I handed her the correct one. I am also 100% sure that RL may have a harder time than me waking up tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nThis is peak European vacation. Jamon flavored chips, doner kebabs, screwdriver, and cigarettes.<\/p>\n

\nSuch a cool city, and such a cool part of town. Gonna miss this for sure. Let’s hope we don’t feel absolutely terrible tomorrow morning when we need to get up for our flight…<\/p>\n
