\nTypical family traveling tradition today as well, the activities of the car are surprises for the children.<\/p>\n

\nWhat’s not a surprise is morning coffee and chocolate croissants.<\/p>\n

\nForgot what was happening here, but obviously some sort of napkin game.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nShort drive inside Albuquerque and we are at a park.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nGo kids, use up your energy. It’s definitely hot here in Albuquerque. Good thing it’s still only mid morning so its bearable.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nShort time at a park then across the street to Explora, a children’s museum. This place was a sleeper hit. It’s an amazing children’s museum, puts the Thinkery in Austin to shame.<\/p>\n

\nRube Goldberg machine. My kids loved it as much as me.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nThey constructed a dam.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nSlime making station.<\/p>\n

\nThis may have been their favorite activity here, we came home with like 6 different colors of slim.<\/p>\n

\nThe employees at the slime station suggested that we go upstairs and visit the bubbles station.<\/p>\n

\nThis was my favorite station for sure.<\/p>\n

\nBubble screen.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nSo satisfying making giant bubbles.<\/p>\n

\nRL was set on making a circular structure.<\/p>\n

\nCompleted. Mainly because it was time to go and not because this was how she wanted to leave it.<\/p>\n

\nBiggest elevator I’ve ever been in. Has couches and a piano inside.<\/p>\n

\nIn the elevator there’s this table where you can make hexagonal patterns by putting your hands under the top.<\/p>\n

\nA really surprisingly awesome kids museum, and in Albuquerque of all places.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAlright, time for lunch. Everyone is getting hangry now.<\/p>\n

\nOld town Albuquerque.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nOld town plaza.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nLunch spot. The building is one of the oldst buildings in Albuquerque.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nTurned out to be a really difficult lunch. They were short staffed, so food came out slowly. We were all hangry, so it made the wait really tedious.<\/p>\n

\nAlso brought out the wrong drink for RL.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nFood is here, so things are improving. Overall, a dining experience to forget due to the slow service and the kids acting up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAfter that meal, it was time for a short nap back at our hotel. We are worn out from so many days on the road.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nNot enough nap later, time to take another short drive in Albuquerque to see some friends.<\/p>\n

\nOh damn, there’s a big fire.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe later found out that there was a warehouse fire at a recycling hub on the news.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOur friends TG and DG had moved from Austin to Albuquerque. The kids were surprised and excited to see their friends that they haven’t seen in a while. They also got to meet the D’s dog, Violet, who is possibly the worlds sweetest dog.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nKids being kids, a split moment of awkwardness and then back to playing together nonstop.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nHome cooked steak dinner, yum.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThen tres leches to complete the meal.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOf course, we also managed to polish off a good amount of a bottle of honey whiskey while we were at it. We were here visiting for about 6 hours, and it seriously felt like maybe an hour or two. Time flies when you are having too much fun.<\/p>\n

\nToo much fun.<\/p>\n
