\nIt’s nice to be able to wake up and not immediately have to repack and get out the door. And this is what roughly $900 a night gets you in DC within about a 5min walk to the National Mall. It’s not cheap, that’s for sure, but at least we are in a good location to all the museums and it fits the five of us comfortably.<\/p>\n

\nWe even have our own terrace. PL kept on saying that they could have made the terrace nicer. Yeah, I agree. Some chairs and a table would be nice out here. Though, it’s pretty hot in DC right now.<\/p>\n

\nAlright, time to hit the streets and look for coffee.<\/p>\n

\nCoffee and breakfast.<\/p>\n

\nThe homeless man at the counter had been harassing RL and PL on the street just shouting obscenities randomly. He eventually came into the coffee shop (after having followed them a few buildings) and was probably asked to leave. There are a lot of homeless on the streets of DC. PL kept teasing RL that she’d made a new friend.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s really hot here in DC and really humid. Probably in the high 90s.<\/p>\n

\nBeen complaining about the heat and walking nonstop.<\/p>\n

\nI hate how there’s not too much shading while walking around the National Mall and everything is so far away. It’s like Vegas.<\/p>\n

\nHey look, the White House. That was a long 20min walk in the heat.<\/p>\n

\nI’m always surprised by how drastic the change in stone color is on the Washington Monument.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s so fucking hot and humid. Miserable.<\/p>\n

\nThe DC circulator bus stop….allegedly. There are two of them close to one other, but the map doesn’t do a good job of saying which one goes which direction. I finally went to a nearby museum store and asked them. Turns out, the DC Circulator bus isn’t running today due to the Nato Summit. And how was a random tourist like me supposed to know that? We tried to get three of the electric scooters, but it would only allow one per phone. And with two phones only, we couldn’t get 3 scooters and couldn’t fit 5 on 2 scooters. Ugh. 3 kid problems. Many other parents we riding around with their 1 or 2 kids. Our kids were terribly disapointed.<\/p>\n

\nFinally, we made the decision to just Uber and get out of this heat. All the kids are getting overheated.<\/p>\n

\nYay for Uber. I was a little worried that they wouldn’t let us all get on since we didn’t have booster seats with us. Not a problem at all apparently.<\/p>\n

\nThe AC in the car feels good…<\/p>\n

\nUber dropped us off at Lincoln Memorial. It’s so fucking hot.<\/p>\n

\nKids didn’t even want to take any photos it’s so hot and humid. Can’t say I blame them.<\/p>\n

\nKids the faster you smile at the camera and we get a good photo, the fastest we get to get out of the heat.<\/p>\n

\nRelief from the heat. It’s lunch time. A lot of restaurants here in DC don’t open for lunch until 11:30am. Lame.<\/p>\n

\nThe reason why we waited and waited and no buses came. Lame.<\/p>\n

\nI want this green Eames chair.<\/p>\n

\nLunch spot. It was one of the few places that was open at 11.<\/p>\n

\nWell, apparently it’s not lunch yet. Even though it’s past 11 and they serve food, they are only serving breakfast items and we can’t order lunch until 11:30am. I guess we’ll order some breakfast now and order some lunch in bout 20min or so.<\/p>\n

\nEveryone is happier now with food and AC.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nWhile RL took the kids back to our apartment after lunch, I walked a few blocks away by myself to stock up on some items at the nearest Walgreens. It’s located next to the Chinatown Gate.<\/p>\n

\nOh, a multistory Walgreens.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nI came with a shopping list and found out that everything that I needed was under lock down.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nI”ve never been to a store where almost everything is locked due to theft. DC is super ghetto apparently.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWell, since I had to get multiple items all on different aisles, I ended up having a personal shopper from Walgreens follow me around to open up all the locks for me. And since I couldn’t find a basket, he just let me put all of the items on his cart and wheeled it up the elevator all the way to the cash register for me. VIP service baby.<\/p>\n

\nOur apartment building. We have the unit on the 10th floor, and that white piece of terrace jutting out almost at the top is our terrace. We’ve probably got the nicest unit in the building. Cool.<\/p>\n

\nNeed to descend into the basement parking garage to drop off some items from Walgreens and then head up to the room.<\/p>\n
