\nThis is my personal favorite. They have expanded MoMA since the last time I was here and I remember all these painting being hung in different locations.<\/p>\n

\nI had to lift PL with her holding the photo and taking a photograph to get a picture of this.<\/p>\n

\nMoMA’s giant underground museum store. We went to a different museum store in another part of the museum already.<\/p>\n

\nGonna take the kids on the subway to get back to our hotel.<\/p>\n

\nDown the stairs.<\/p>\n

\nAnd immediately back up the stairs due to maintenance so we can’t board trains at this station.<\/p>\n

\nThose are the stairs we came up from. This exit has signage that you can’t board a train. Too bad the entrance that we used earlier has no signage.<\/p>\n

\nOur subway detour signage. Now we’ve gotta walk a few more blocks with fussy kids to catch the train.<\/p>\n

\nFound, hopefully it’ll work this time.<\/p>\n

\nWorks. To get through the turnstiles, RL would scan her contactless credit card to get through. Then I would scan my own card 4 different times to send the kids to RL one by one and then I’ll go past as the last one. This is needed because one form of payment can only be scanned for 4 people at a time. I do appreciate not having to get a dedicated subway card though.<\/p>\n

\nOf all the trains and subways that I’ve taken worldwide. NYC is about as confusing as it gets. So many trains share the same line, some local, some not, some running now, some not, etc. etc. Why is it so complicated for a system that’s used by so many? Definitely not tourist friendly. Google maps directions has finally made it easier to follow for visitors.<\/p>\n

\nFirst time for the kids to get on a subway. I think they are excited about the rush of air that comes into the station as the train arrives. They also talked about how hot it was at the station.<\/p>\n

\nSome nice man got up so they can all sit together. They are excited about the subway ride and all the noises they hear.<\/p>\n

\nEasy peasy, let’s go back to our hotel and check into our room.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nThere’s our hotel. I’ve always admired this building from past trips, and never knew it was a hotel. Still didn’t know it was a hotel until after I had booked the rooms and was pleasantly surprised to find out that we are staying in this beautiful building.<\/p>\n

\nNever had a connecting room like this before. A door to a foyer and beyond that two doors to two separate rooms. The rooms can be occupied individually if the foyer isn’t closed off to the main hallway, but they can be permanently connect through the foyer if needed. Cool.<\/p>\n

\nThis is what roughly $900 a night gets you across from Bryant Park in NYC. That’s the price for both rooms combined. Not too bad actually considering how big the rooms are…relatively speaking.<\/p>\n

\nThe kids room.<\/p>\n

\nThe travertine tiles reminds me of my old condo back in Austin.<\/p>\n

\nGot partial view of Bryant Park from our window.<\/p>\n

\nMama and Baba need some rest. Kids, go play on your ipads for a bit until we head out to dinner.<\/p>\n

\nTime for dinner. Again, path of semi least resistance. Got a craving for dim sum, so found a spot a few blocks away.<\/p>\n

\nThe kids saw a rat grabbing some food and going into the drain here. Nice authentic NYC experience.<\/p>\n

\nTimes Square down there.<\/p>\n

\nFound dinner spot.<\/p>\n

\nDim sum, fast food style. Yum.<\/p>\n

\nLosing it.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s like this nonstop other than during ipad time.<\/p>\n

\nWaiting for our food. I ordered 2 beers, but the lady accidentally rung up for 3. Sure, it’s a sign. We’ll drink 3.<\/p>\n

\nYes!!! Very good dim sum. I miss it and the kids enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

\nThey kids have been practicing clinking their glasses and saying cheers. They are saying cheers with their egg tarts.<\/p>\n

\nSisters holding hands. Cuties.<\/p>\n

\nLast time I was in NYC, they hadn’t passed the marijuana laws yet, and it’s very different this time. All around Bryant Park, I could smell weed. There are sellers of weed just randomly on the sidewalks too.<\/p>\n

\nLots of people in NYC right now.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nCVS with an escalator.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nDC isn’t the only place with a high shrink problem.<\/p>\n

\nOne of the two bathrooms wasn’t getting hot water so we had to call maintenance. They are renovating the lower floors of the hotel currently, and they did some pipe work. Eventually they were able to get the hot water back on by circulating the water for a while.<\/p>\n

\nHad to hit up the lounge bar in the basement of the hotel. The kids weren’t allowed in the bar area, but there’s a sitting area right outside of the bar where the kids are allowed.<\/p>\n

\nNYC prices for drinks. I think they were like $23 each for just rye bourbon. Eeek.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nHaving a little bit of adult time at the bar while the kids are on their ipads. Everyone’s happy.<\/p>\n

\nMoroccan lights.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOf course, even though we just ate not long ago, the kids say they are hungry and we ended up ordering some food.<\/p>\n

\nBryant Park is so awesome. We keep hearing music outside and saw that they were having concerts tonight at the park.<\/p>\n

\nAgain, such a cool little park. It’s got coffee, bars, chairs and tables, trees. What an amazing little oasis inside the big city.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe are #1. We were heading upstairs to our room after a couple of drinks. Both elevators came at the same time, and RL said let’s race. I went with PL and immediately knew we’d win. The elevator takes key card access to move, and I know RL didn’t bring her keys. We rode up to take this picture before going down to get everyone else. RL said we cheated, but I say it’s not our fault that we know the rules and restrictions better than her.<\/p>\n

\nBryant park at night. If I wasn’t so tired, I’d go sit down there, have a drink and listen to music.<\/p>\n

\nRL found this kebab place. She went and got us a late night snack.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nI’m so excited.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nYummmmm!!! This is the closest to a German kebab that I’ve ever had here in America. Really really hit the spot.<\/p>\n
