Continued from Taiwan Day 5 Part 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I woke up this morning not feeling the greatest. I’ve been having a sore throat for the past few days, and it’s just gotten worse. I called ah ma to see if she can book me an appoint sometime today to see a doctor. We are heading to Japan tomorrow, so gotta try to see a doctor in Taiwan while I still can without the language barrier.<\/p>\n

\nBreakfast at hotel.<\/p>\n

\nA little under the weather. Grumpy.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAh ma called the clinic and they have some openings this morning, so I dropped off RL with the kids and headed out to the clinic with ah ma.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWalk in clinic.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nNice, I’m always filling out forms for others. But for once, my mom is here to fill out forms for me since it’s all in Chinese.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWhile mom fills out the form, I can peruse all the children’s books.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nSaw the doctor, he took a quick look at my throat, and prescribed me antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory. I bet almost everyone who comes in with throat pain gets the same package of medicine, and this is why there’s antibiotic resistant bugs.<\/p>\n

\nWith my medicine in hand, found a taxi and now heading back.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nLook at all those mopeds on the transport.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nGot back from my doctor’s visit, and immediately got into the van with our driver to head to yet another mall. This one is a fancy mall.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nBut we are not here to shop…well, not at first anyway (and definitely not at this store).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe are here to eat Din Tai Fung!!! Yum!!!!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"I want to order everything!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nSoup dumplings!!!!<\/p>\n

\nRL said the beef noodle soup that she ordered was too spicy.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nMore please. The kids said the soup dumplings were their favorites things that they ate in Taiwan. I would also agree that this is the best meal in Taiwan.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWell, we are already in a mall, might as well go check it out. The kids have all been bugging us to go shopping.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nID Buzz!<\/p>\n

\nRL is very amazed by this small fitting room.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nDone shopping, just sitting and digesting our lunch.<\/p>\n

\nThey really do have 7 Elevens everywhere. There’s even a random 7 Eleven on one of the higher up floors in this mall, just next to other shops.<\/p>\n

\nAfter shopping, I got home and took some of my antibiotics. I bet I’ve got a viral infection and these won’t even do anything to help. Tired, so gonna just take a fat nap.<\/p>\n

\nAfter an afternoon nap, it’s time to get going again. Must have another pudding.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOur driver is driving us to a night market. CL had somehow misheard that we were headed to a party tonight where they serve water. Lol. I guess the night market is kinda like a party.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWish they sold these Suzuki Jimmy in America. I think they are pretty cool.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nA little umbrella for their phones.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nHere we are, at the Fengjia university next to Fengjia night market.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nLike moths to a flame.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nIf you want to spend money, take your kids to shoot balloons with bb guns.<\/p>\n

\nRL gets quite the kick out of this challenge herself.<\/p>\n

\nSpend a lot of money, get a little stuffy.<\/p>\n

\nOh look, claw machines. I don’t remember Taiwan having this many claw machine places the last time I was here. I think they’ve gained much popularity in the past decade.<\/p>\n

\nRakes and sticks…I kinda want a rake.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nRL put in a 1000NT bill…it spit out 100 10NT coins…oops. It was a free for all to grab some from the kids.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThere were so many coins, still plenty leftover for baba and mama.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nMy sweet girl PL got this just for her baba. Thanks!!<\/p>\n

\nHe wanted a stick.<\/p>\n

\nPL went for another gift, this time for mama.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWhen you’ve got 5 people playing claw machines, 1000NT goes away quickly. Ah ma put in another 500NT.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nEveryone ended up with something. I guess the fun was worth the money.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOh, sticky tofu! Must have the kids try.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nIt stinks. RL says it smells like the inside of a very well used tennis shoe.<\/p>\n

\nCL said that it tasted exactly like it smells, and she’s absolutely correct. I’m proud of them for trying it.<\/p>\n

\nLike I said, moths to a flame.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nThe darker it got, the more crowded the nightmarket got.<\/p>\n

\nAwesome! Fake poop claw machine.<\/p>\n

\nWhile we were at the night market, we all got these alerts on our phones about an earthquake. We didn’t feel anything, it was far enough away on the other side of the island and not severe enough, thankfully.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe didn’t want to risk eating anything possibly suspect at the night market, so we figured we’d grab some food at the 7 Eleven for dinner before leaving the night market.<\/p>\n

\nThis 7 Eleven had most of their food shelves cleared out, but I did find this strawberry flavored coke here.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOur driver couldn’t come pick us up on this end of the night market due to traffic, so we ended up backtracking all the way to our original drop off spot.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nBack at my grandma’s apartment. Due to stuffing my face at Din Tai Fung during lunch, I was still not super hungry. I’ll just have a little bit of this red bean cake and call it a night. Been gaining too much weight by eating too much since I’ve been in Taiwan anyway. RL says its all the puddings I’m eating…no its not.<\/p>\n
