Continued from Quebec City Day 1.<\/p>\n

\nThis is the type of weather we are dealing with during our 4 days here in Quebec City. It’s actually warmed up some this week, as it’s not freezing. A few weeks ago, the temperature was in the minuses. Eek.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAnother overcast cloudy day. We slept in, and we slept in some more. It was nice to just lounge around in bed.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nFirst order of business is to walk down to Lower Town and find some coffee.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThese stairs will lead us down to Lower Town from Uppertown where the Chateau Frontenac is at.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nDid not expect to see this here. This feels like New Orleans levels of crude and tourist trap.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nQuartier Petit Champlain. This is the most picturesque part of old Quebec City. It’s actually quite small, like much smaller than both of us had expected. Only like 2 street or 3 short streets small.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nCoffee here.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nCute shop, rude barista. She served the French speaking customer\/friend who ordered after us first. And was generally very unfriendly and scuffed at us not knowing how to speak French. Because you know, I’m sure she’s traveled everywhere before and been to other parts of the world where she always spoke their language. Bitch. We figured we’d run into someone like this here in Quebec, let’s hope she’s the exception and not the rule. Thankfully, this rude barista was the only rude person we met this entire trip. Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois aren\u2019t rude, only she was rude.<\/p>\n

\nVery sleepy, nothing much was open and not many people here right now.<\/p>\n

\nLots of tourist trap shops down here, a little disappointing. But we come to find out it’s also a cruise port, so now makes a little bit more sense.<\/p>\n

\nNice mural.<\/p>\n

\nGo ahead Canada, pretend like the native Americans were happy you came by and killed them like all the other Europeans.<\/p>\n

\nThe Chateau really dominates this whole landscape here. Such a cool building.<\/p>\n

\nHot water from hose spraying and melting snow.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nWe don’t have much planned here in Quebec City, so we might as well just sit on a park bench and enjoy our coffee.<\/p>\n

\nGrocery store to stock up for our hotel fridge.<\/p>\n

\nAAAAhhhh yes. One of my favorite brewery ever. All these special brews that I can’t find in the US. We ended up a couple 4packs, we won’t be able to finish them in time, but it’ll be awesome to try some. Surprisingly, I was unable to find any Unibroue beers at any of the restaurants\/bars this whole trip. I was hoping I could get some of that sweet nectar on draft here.<\/p>\n

\nWhat\u2019s this odd one off stone? Almost looks like a headstone.<\/p>\n

\nOur room is the left two of the 3 windows right below the roof of that tower.<\/p>\n

\nLots of people showing up today at the hotel. Last night when we showed up late, it was basically empty. It’s bustling today.<\/p>\n

\nI’ve got a video call meeting at noon, but also on vacation…I’ll have a little bit of this before my meeting. So good.<\/p>\n

\nMeeting done, now lunch time. Since Old Town is so small, everything that we want to go to is just a short walk away.<\/p>\n

\nLunch spot.<\/p>\n

\nYou walk in and there’s immediately a little sink for you to wash your hands. Hah.<\/p>\n

\nQuebecois food.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nNice. Lot’s of comfort food and meat pie choices. The red sauce is what they call ketchup, it’s a fruit ketchup but doesn’t contain tomatoes. We’ve learned very quickly that the Quebecois love their sugar. Every food item is sweet in some way. I guess this is what happens when this the region where maple syrup was invented.<\/p>\n

\nMaple pie…extremely sweet. After that extra sugary meal it’s time for a nap.<\/p>\n

\nNap time over, time to wake up and walk around our hotel, then after that go to dinner. They had displayed this super old guestbook in our hotel elevator vestibule.<\/p>\n

\nConference rooms in the lower levels.<\/p>\n

\nAlso a Starbucks in the lower level!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nWoah, all chocolate.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nA pre dinner drink at the hotel bar.<\/p>\n

\nWell, sort of the hotel bar. The actual bar was under renovation and covered by the heavy curtains.<\/p>\n

\nBoth drinks were…very sweet. The Quebecois have some serious sweet tooth. And look at how big RL\u2019s drink was! Just a giant bowl of sugar, she didn\u2019t even finish it it was so sweet.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s raining a little bit, good thing our dinner spot is only a very short block away.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAnd we are here, Le Continental.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nOld school French restaurant that specializes in tableside flambe cooking.<\/p>\n

\nRL loves scallops, which were not prepared tableside.<\/p>\n

\nSteak with mustard sauce, yes please. Cooked to perfection, so delicious.<\/p>\n

\nThen some XO as post dinner drink.<\/p>\n

\nSo full. This meal hit it out of the park. So good, and love the fun tableside cooking.<\/p>\n

\nHeading back to chill at the hotel now. Rain’s stopped. We didn’t do much today, this shall be a chill borderline boring vacation as planned.<\/p>\n
