Continued from Quebec City Day 3.<\/p>\n

\nLast day in Quebec City, another cloudy overcast day. It’s been raining or threatening to rain everyday, so far we’ve managed to dodge most of it. We were supposed to take a short boat ride to the other side of the river in an activity that was offered by the hotel. Well, since I got sick yesterday, we decided against getting on a boat and instead booked a hotel tour for early afternoon. Yup, this will go down as the most chill old person trip ever.<\/p>\n

\nAfter another slow start to our morning, we head down to lower town to get some coffee.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAnd right outside of the coffee shop is this super loud wood chipper making a ruckus. Hopefully they’ll be done soon disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nA Porsche Carrera\/Racing themed coffee shop, how could I not visit. I asked the barista, apparently the owner works for Porsche.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nI’d hit it.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAfter coffee, we visited this sugar shack gift store.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nI guess if you couldn’t make it to a real sugar shack out in the country, this is the next best thing.<\/p>\n

\nAnd a little shopping at this store that we saw earlier, Fuck La Mode – Fuck Fashion. RL’s been wanting to get a shirt here. And I feel like I’ve seen this store before, maybe I’ve been to Quebec City before when I was much much younger? But we have young kids at home, when will RL ever have a chance to wear a shirt that says Fuck on it?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nNow back up to Upper Town for some lunch.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nLove these wide planks.<\/p>\n

\nPoutine is everywhere here, I finally tried it today. It’s just ok. Just fries with sauce and cheer curds on it.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s 1pm, time to start our hotel tour. The tour starts outside on the boardwalk, it’s sprinkling a little bit and it’s windy and cold.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOh wait, we were supposed to wait inside the coffee\/ice cream shop under the pergola instead of on top of it.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOur tour guide for the hotel tour. She was actually a pretty funny lady.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nApparently those paintings on the ceiling are actual paintings then glued to the ceiling. Apparently some Italian technique.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nDuring the tour we learned that the famous Korean hit drama Goblin was filmed here and this was the mailbox featured in the series. Also found out about the red door that was featured in the series that we inadvertently took a photo of in Lower Town. And apparently the red door was moved because so many people would come and take pictures with it during the high season that it was blocking the doorway.<\/p>\n

\nApparently there was a D Day invasion planning meeting in this room back in the day with Churchill and FDR and a document was left behind with all the plans. Oops.<\/p>\n

\nThis wing of the building had burned down in the past and been rebuilt. They built fireplaces as homage to the old design with fireplaces, but none of them are working fireplaces.<\/p>\n

\nMe and RL both really like this ceiling.<\/p>\n

\nAnd that’s the end of the tour, took less than an hour. It was alright, pretty chill and gave us something to do. Honestly, there just isn’t that much to do here in Quebec City, not for us anwyay.<\/p>\n

\nA quick nap cap before…nap.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nWoke up from nap to more rain.<\/p>\n

\nWe\u2019ve been taking the path of least resistance today, so let\u2019s continue that. For our last dinner here in Quebec City, let\u2019s just eat at the fancy restaurant inside our hotel.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cSuck in\u201d, RL said to me.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nBread was really good, like amazing crust.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nScallops under there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nLove my cheap travel watch.<\/p>\n

\nIn typical Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois fashion, there\u2019s plenty of sugar. The set menu that we ordered ended with 3 different desserts one right after another! That\u2019s a first.<\/p>\n

\nOne of these was modified for RL due to her dairy restrictions.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nStuffed. So much sugar.<\/p>\n

We head home tomorrow, but our flight isn\u2019t until midday so we still get a have a chill morning.<\/p>\n

Home, Sweet Home.<\/b><\/p>\n

\nWithout fail, another overcast day, and it\u2019s foggy too. Though, supposed to get sunny later today.<\/p>\n

\nLet\u2019s keep making it easy, Starbucks at the bottom level of our hotel for breakfast and coffee.<\/p>\n

\nEasy Peasy.<\/p>\n

\nJust chilling before we head to airport. We\u2019ve got a flight a little bit after noon, so easy chill morning over here.<\/p>\n

\nTaxi, take us to airport and hope I don\u2019t randomly get carsick again. Fortunately, I felt just fine.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nMaybe there\u2019s something about what the waitress in Montreal said about Quebec City being a lot of rednecks. There\u2019s A LOT of trucks here, like Texas level of trucks.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nGot our boarding passes and no checked luggage, so straight to the gate.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nChariots!<\/p>\n

\nWell\u2026apparently not straight to the gate. We went through security, but got flagged due to a bottle of semi expensive lotion that RL bought at the hotel being over 100mL. Doh. It didn\u2019t occur to either of us that it would be over the limit, our own fault. So now we had to come back down and check one of our luggage to fly the bottle of lotion back to Austin. Oops.<\/p>\n

\nOf course, we had to wait for the bag drop off line to open 2 hours before our flight takes off.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWell, dropped bag off, and now past security and eating lunch by gate.<\/p>\n

\nHeading back to America, seems like a typical American meal.<\/p>\n

\nLook blue skies!<\/p>\n

\nIt is very brown over here in Quebec. Everything is still dormant.<\/p>\n

\nIn contrast, here we are about to land in Newark, where there\u2019s green everywhere.<\/p>\n

\nBlah, immigration line. Could be worse, took us about 30min. Got our checked bag, redropped to baggage and now to our gate.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nStill hungry, second later lunch\/dinner.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nLook at that long line to refill water bottles. The water was filling so slowly, and the filler by the next water station was broken. Boo. I had to wait in this long line as it never quite got shorter.<\/p>\n

\nOh nice, newer plane with an actual screen.<\/p>\n

\nBye NYC.<\/p>\n

\nSnacks on the flight. I also go some Dunkin\u2019 Donuts at the airport to supplement our \u201cdinner\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nHome, Sweet Home.<\/p>\n

Not much blogging for this trip. The amount of activity that we did for this trip is probably akin to staying at an all inclusive beach resort\u2026except it was in the cold Canadian NE.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
