Continued from Paris 2026 Day 1 Part 2.<\/p>\n

\nRL plated up a small breakfast for everyone, yum.<\/p>\n

\nThe kids get ipads at 8am in the morning. That’s about what time the parents wake up as well.<\/p>\n

\nBreakfast spot, nice.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s not a cold brew, but I’m glad to have this Nespresso machine in our airbnb.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nWe’ve got one major item on our agenda today, and it is to visit the Louvre Museum. What’s this firetruck doing parking outside of our entrance? Well, it turns out our airbnb is right next door to the fire station. With that said, you wouldn’t know it since it doesn’t seem like they turn on the sirens until they are farther from the station as I don’t hear the sirens going off constantly.<\/p>\n

\nWhat’s going on here? These two are usually always fighting and picking on each other so this looks strange to us.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nOK, figured it out. They are playing a game where CL is guiding KL while he has his eyes closed. And what does she do…she guides him to run into me…sigh. She also at one\u00a0 point told him there were stairs and “to step up” even though there weren’t any. They play, and they fight. The ratio of fighting and playing is probably about 20:1 leaning heavily towards fighting.<\/p>\n

\nGonna get some pastries and have a little picnic at the Louvre courtyard before we go into the museum. After we get in, who knows how crowded it will be(assuming very) and when we’ll be able to snack or eat lunch.<\/p>\n

\nStocked up some snacks, now we head to Louvre for our picnic.<\/p>\n

\nBeen seeing little artwork like these all over the buildings here in Paris.<\/p>\n

\nHere we are, just a short walk from our airbnb.<\/p>\n

\nKids trying to recreate my cobblestone phone background with them in it again….it’s really really hard to get them to all look up at the same time with eyes open smiling.<\/p>\n

\nThey all took turns complaining about the sun being too bright in their eyes!<\/p>\n

\nThat lady looks scary.<\/p>\n

\nFound a nice spot in the shade, let’s break out our pastries. Damnit…the bread shop got our order wrong and forgot to give us some of the items we asked for…but I’m pretty sure we still got charged for them. Oh well, we’ll make it work.<\/p>\n

\nStill a bit of time until our 12:30pm timed entry, so they decided to play a game of climbing up this wall. Teamwork!<\/p>\n

\nThey were very proud. They asked to take a victory photo.<\/p>\n

\nThey had so much fun the first time they are going to try again.<\/p>\n

\nI got the kids Orangina to drink along with their pastries. Seems like a French thing to do.<\/p>\n

\nNow, they are going to try to coordinate jumping off the wall at the same time.<\/p>\n

\nPL tricked them and didn’t jump.<\/p>\n

\nSuccess, finally.<\/p>\n

\nWe talked about whether there was actual pool in the water fountain, couldn’t tell at this distance so told the kids to run over there and see. They seemed to like this mission. There’s no water in it other than small puddles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAlright, it’s almost time for our entry, let’s go wait in line.<\/p>\n

\nUp ahead is the 12:30pm line. There’s a lot of people, it’s gonna be a crowd.<\/p>\n

\nLine is pretty long but at least seems to be moving at a moderate pace.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAnd we are in!<\/p>\n

\nLet’s get the big one out of the way.<\/p>\n

\nAnother line to scan our actual tickets. We lucked out here. We waited behind what I assume to be school field trip groups with lots of kids. It didn’t move for a while then all of a sudden they all went at the same time due to I guess their group tickets. That immediately put us at the front of the line against all the other lines, sweet!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nLots and lots and lots of people…<\/p>\n

\nWinged victory of samothrace. It’s pretty cool I guess.<\/p>\n

\nNice of them to have signs pointing to the Mona Lisa. I guess they got tired of all the visitors asking the staff which way to Mona Lisa.<\/p>\n

\nThat’s a fuck load of people. So many to the point that it’s not enjoyable being here.<\/p>\n

\nRL thought this was funny seeing a greek style bust with Egyptian headdress. She thought the two did not go well together.<\/p>\n

\nJohn the Baptist head on a plater. Don’t know who the lady is supposed to be and didn’t read the plaque.<\/p>\n

\nWell, here we are. So far away my phone doesn’t even think it’s important enough to be the focus.<\/p>\n

\nLifting him up to see over the massive crowd.<\/p>\n

\nKids asked if they could get a closer look, sure. Go through that crowd, the three of you stick together, and we’ll be waiting for you right here.<\/p>\n

\nThe painting opposite of Mona Lisa, what I assume to be the last supper.<\/p>\n

\nI mean, look at this crowd….this is literally take a photo, been there done that, and then move on moment.<\/p>\n

\nThe kids are back, they made it all the way to the front. What did they think of it? Not much actually. Sounds about right. We were talking about overrated things in life, and we talked about how Mona Lisa is one of them. Especially in the Louvre, there are so many equally amazing, if not better paintings.<\/p>\n

\nOh, to exit the room, you exit from the side where you can get a semi closer view of it without all the people in front of you. With that said, they keep you moving through though. Again…you can’t get close enough to it to get a good look doesn’t matter where you are so why bother? Even if you can get a good look, then what??<\/p>\n

\nWonder what incidents happened in the past to warrant this notice.<\/p>\n

\nRL’s favorite painting in this section.<\/p>\n

\nThe two Princes in the tower, about to get murdered. What’s that? Is that a footstep on the threshold?<\/p>\n

\nThe dog knows something is up.<\/p>\n

\nThe Louvre owns so many amazing paintings that they hang some up so high that you can’t even get a good look at them. So would say they’ve acquired too many paintings instead of putting more money into security.<\/p>\n
