Continued from Paris 2026 Day 3 Part 1.<\/p>\n

\nWhen I got back to the airbnb with LKL, I noticed immediately that our water has been shut off….fuck. I contacted the host, and they claimed to have messaged me two days ago about the planned shut off that’s supposed to happen from 11am until evening. Well, I checked and checked, they did not send me the message. Sigh. Either way it’s 1:35pm right now, let’s see how many hours we’ll be without water. Poop…except we can’t really poop due to none flushing toilets.<\/p>\n

\nThe girls meanwhile were oblivious to our issues of having no water while browsing at the mall.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOh yay!!! What do you do, the water came back at around 3pm. It’s so nice to have water again. I was worried we weren’t gonna have water back until late evening, which would have been miserable.<\/p>\n

Water is back, let’s nap. It’s hot here in Paris and we’ve been walking a lot. We are wearing ourselves down slowly here.<\/p>\n

\nAlright, nap finished and it’s almost 6pm, let’s leave and try to see one thing here in Paris before dinner.<\/p>\n

\nBack into the Metro and a few short stops should get us there.<\/p>\n

\nAlways loved these vintage art nouveau style metro station signs.<\/p>\n

\nHere we are. We have no reservation, but it seems like we can just show up and wait in line. I decided that we should go an hour before they close as most people don’t go visit places right before they close so hopefully the lines will be shorter.<\/p>\n

\nLine not bad and it’s moving briskly. Nice.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s been 7 years or so since the fire and a year and a half since they’ve finished repairing it. If no one told me, I would have never guess that it had suffered such massive damage so recently.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nLKL is wearing his Columbia jersey today that he got in Cartagena. Some other guy in line wanted to give him a high five for Columbia(assuming he is Columbian) but LKL wasn’t paying attention and missed the high five.<\/p>\n

\nI knew they wanted to cover shoulders, but RL didn’t have a cover with her….<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWell, so many tourists show up here with bare shoulders that they pass out covers at the line for people going in. I guess that solves that.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAnd the inside looks like it’s never been damaged. Actually…it looks clean, I think it was sooting from all the candles burned over the centuries. I’ll need to look at older photos to double check.<\/p>\n

\nKids wanted to light candles, so RL is buying them some. God takes credit cards now, so that’s nice.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nThe organ player was playing songs while we were here. Pretty cool to hear. Love the acoustics of these old stone churches.<\/p>\n

\nAnd you exit here….through a gift shop!! God loves it when you buy gifts. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been to so many amazing European churches, but both RL and I thought that Notre Dame was underwhelming. It’s a beautiful church, but not necessary more beautiful than other gothic churches here in Europe.<\/p>\n

\nThe kids fought over who got to take our picture. Finally we settle on any time we want our picture taken, we change who takes it. Sigh.<\/p>\n

\nThe Seine…supposedly you could swim in it now….supposedly. I wouldn’t swim in that swampy looking river, would you?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAlright, got that off the check list, let’s go back in the subway now.<\/p>\n

\nThere’s an escalator down, it’s on a timer. The kids were impressed by it.<\/p>\n

\nBack to Les Halles, now time to find a dinner spot.<\/p>\n

\nAnother Paris dinner, another street side seating. PL originally wanted to sit inside since she thought it would be cooler. But it was actually stifling hot inside, so we moved back outside with the breeze. Then we actually found out that she didn’t want to sit outside because she is afraid a pigeon will poo in her food.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nMy stressed face…again.<\/p>\n

\nRL’s dish. She said it tasted lovely.<\/p>\n

\nStuffed with a lemon!<\/p>\n

\nLet’s do this!!! Benefit of traveling in a part of 5 is that you can order the giant family sized mix grill! Yum, loved the variety.<\/p>\n

\nLKL needs to use the restroom while eating.<\/p>\n

\nInteresting restroom setup.<\/p>\n

\nAre all those different sents of soaps?<\/p>\n

\nGiant pot sinks.<\/p>\n

\nAlright, dinner was a hit. Took us a while to calm down and enjoy our dinner, but it worked out. Now, take the kids home put them to bed, then RL and I will go out for a little nightcap.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s a bustling night tonight here in Paris.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nRL is putting the kids to bed while I’ll go and save us a spot at the bar. Looks like someone lost a cucumber…<\/p>\n

\nBack to the brasserie that we had dinner earlier this trip right by us. We both decided this is our favorite spot to hang here in Paris (on this visit at least). It’s all local residents here in this bar and we are here tonight because the French national team is playing a world cup game tonight. Kinda excited to see the atmosphere of a football loving country watch their team play.<\/p>\n

\nKids in bed, RL here now. It’s nice that the kids are like a half of block away, and we can just text them on their ipads to check in on them.<\/p>\n

\nCheers!<\/p>\n

\nI looked around, and told RL that I’m the oldest person in this entire bar. RL said she didn’t even need to look around to know that to be true. I’m old now.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nThe newly introduced hydration break. When this popped up, everyone in the bar raised their cups and drank their drinks too.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe left at half time, and the score was still 0-0. Back at our airbnb, RL did hear the crowd go wild everywhere outside. France had scored a goal, and would go on to win the game 3-1 by the end.<\/p>\n
