Continued from Paris Day 3 Part 2.<\/p>\n

\nAnother morning, another beautiful view.<\/p>\n

\nYum, coffee.<\/p>\n

\nWe are going to see some of the famous Paris monuments today.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWonder what they were looking at? RL told me its cat videos.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nLKL asked what these things were, I said they are bollards to prevent cars from driving into this area….but now that I’m looking at them in the picture, they look like missile warhead shaped boobs.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nFound the famous monument.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAlso found these London Plane trees all over the park next to this famous monument.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThe ticket line to get into the Eiffel Tower. I couldn’t get reservations in time to take the elevator, there were only stair climbing options left. I decided that it would be too much effort for the result so we are here just to stand on the ground and get some pictures of the Eiffel Tower. CL was very upset about this but considering how tired out she gets from climbing stairs I suspect she would have been very grumpy part of the way up.<\/p>\n

\nI guess they no longer let you go under the tower itself. I remember when I came here last time you could just roam around the bottom.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nIt’s really bright, and it’s impossible to get a photo where everyone is looking. We took all these photos, and somehow none of them turned out quite right. The kids complained nonstop about how the bright sun was. 1 2 3 open your eyes and smile seems like simple enough instructions.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nWell, we tried…they didn’t turn out. Sigh.<\/p>\n

\nCome on kids, you can do it! Just give me one good shot.<\/p>\n

\nOK, I give up. we won’t have a nice Eiffel Tower photo.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nAs we were walking to leave the area, we found a shaded area, by those damn London Plane trees.<\/p>\n

\nWhat do you know, they are all looking and smiling. I guess this works.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nUgh, all these London Plane trees…<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nPL is the one most excited about seeing Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nCool building on the other bank of Seine.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAlright, gonna leave this touristy area and head to another touristy area.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nYup, like clockwork. I walk around these London Plane trees, and my asthma starts acting up and I need to take a couple puffs of inhaler.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nNext train station.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThat’s not a very French sounding station.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\nCL had asked about why some stations have these gates, and others don’t. Well child, it all comes down to money. With unlimited money, they would probably build them at all stations. But with limited money, some of that money goes into building more trains, etc. etc.<\/p>\n

\nWe popped up from our next subway stop right next to Arc de Triomphe.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThen from there we went right back underground to go under the giant traffic circle to actually get to the middle of there Arc is located at. Me and the girls decided to climb to the top of the Arc while RL will stay behind with LKL who is having a small melt down. He’s tired and he doesn’t want to climb. RL doesn’t want to climb to the top either, so it works out. Later, I found out that part of the reason he was crying was because he was very sad for a homeless man that he saw begging at the opening of the tunnel.<\/p>\n

\nNo tickets, but maybe a 10min wait for tickets. Not too bad.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAlright, let’s climb.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nIt’s a spiral stairs all the way to the top. I looked it up, 284 steps to get to the very top.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAlright, made it to the top.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWell, not the top top. There’s another two smaller staircases that takes you to the roof.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOh, they’ve got a camera pointed right down the bottom of the Arc with a video feed. I texted RL and told her to come over with LKL to wave at us…but first, let us go to the roof.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAnother short level up.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nNow the roof. The view is as spectacular as I had remembered.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nChamps Elysees.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nAgain…hard to take photos.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nTook several tries, but got one of them both looking up and smiling.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nMeanwhile, RL is down here taking photos of the Arc with LKL.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n
