Continued from London 2026 Day 1.

Woke up to this photo sent to our phone. Our awesome friend who’s been watching our Dog Momochimaru sent us a photo of her destroying her new toy. Terrible terrible animal.
We woke up at 9ish, and surprisingly it seemed like everyone was tired enough to actually sleep through the night! We even had to wake up the kids, so that’s good. We were worried that we were going to wake up exhausted, but it turned out ok so far.

These two fight nonstop, and once in a blue moon, they play really well together. But mostly, they just fight.

Time to head down to the tube station and take a short ride to Westminster.

Charing Cross.

It’s raining this morning and it’s a little chilly.

Just one stop.

We got out at Westminster from underground, and the kids stood around drinking their teas and didn’t even notice Big Ben until we pointed it out…silly kids.

Saw Big Ben, but we are headed to what’s right around the corner from it, Westminster Abbey.

Must have coffee. Heading down to what we think is a subway walkway to take us across the traffic.

And that wasn’t it, it was just a subway that took us to…the subway. We’ll need to look for a surface crossing somewhere here. I remember having to look for an actual cross walk last time we were here too. I think I vaguely remember doing the same thing 4 years ago as well.

We are smart, we found our way.

New phone background photo.

The girls keep on throwing peace signs and invariably, they cover up LKL’s face in the photos.

The kids were a little bit impressed by this when we got inside. I mean…I’m impressed, it’s always impressive in here. But then we told them that the most impressive thing here isn’t the beautiful structure, but the people who are buried here, by which they weren’t much impressed by.

There’s a lot of people have. We have timed entry at 10:30am, and it’s already pretty crowded.

I pointed out Darwin’s grave. and the kids were like, “Who? Is he famous?” I mentioned evolution, and it rang a bell for LKL actually.

One down, two more to go. LKL gets to visit his namesake!! Next will be the girls when we get to Paris. This was the main reason we came to the Abby with the kids this time.

Newton’s grave. They haven’t learned about Newton too much yet…oh, but they will.

It’s getting really crowded in here right about now.

Like…soooo many people we are barely moving.

And this is when we said….we can need avoid this crowd and go to the courtyard instead. It’s simply too crowded to keep going like this.

We took a side route and bypassed the most crowded portion.

This guy was murdered. Says so. Right there. And in the choir no less, the tea!

RL is always excited about C.S. Lewis.

Imagine being a plumber and having the same honor of being buried here in Westminster Abbey as Kings, Queens, Newton, Kelvin, and whatnot. They must have really appreciated this guy to give him a spot here.

What’s surveyor of fabric?

The kids haven’t been easy this morning. LKL especially, and here he’s getting a talking to along with PL. RL has on her “Come to Jesus or mom will lose it on you” face.

Squatting in a spot after just getting in big trouble and having ANOTHER talking to.

PL wanted to see Shakespheare, so we had to double back just the two of us to find his grave in Poet’s corner…except…this is just a memorial. He’s actually buried in Stratford upon Avon.

Alright, done with Westminster Abbey. The summer crowds are no joke, and it’s still raining pretty good out here. The rain coats are coming in really handy.

Now we head back closer to our airbnb to find some lunch.

Pink car!

You know it, DTF. It opens at noon, and we are here right before it opens and first one in line.

Yum yum.

Pretty good and refreshing actually.

Yup, this really hit the spot.

Back at our airbnb after lunch. PL’s shoes have the most amount of mesh, and naturally her shoes got soaked even though I put waterproof spray on everyone’s shoes before we started this trip. Made this AC into our drying station.

It’s time to chill for a bit this afternoon. Still jetlagged. This TV den in the basement is super awesome.

Took a chill afternoon napping and now on our way to dinner. The British Pub drinking culture is still very much alive…though, statistics says that a lot of pubs are closing and people are drinking less. Still got these people spilling out of many pubs here right after work.

Dinner spot, Indian food,.

I think the girls were fighting for the same seat. Sigh. Chill out kids, we are just waiting here for 2 minutes while they get our table ready.

Haha. CL discovered that she can make one of her eyes half close and flutter on command.

She says it looks like she’s eating styrofoam. I agree.

RL ordered this drink, but it’s obviously got tons of dairy which doesn’t do well with her tummy, so now I’ve got to drink her drink too on top of my beer.

The food was all very good. Every single dish was also spicy even though none of them had “Mild Spicy” listed next to them. If these spicy dishes were considered “nonspicy” I wonder what the “Mild Spicy” dishes are like then…we had a tough time feeding the kids this food due to the spice level.

Done with dinner, walking to Trafalgar Square to check it out.

Oh, it’s all fenced off.

Looks like a concert this weekend. Maybe we’ll find the time to go.

Back at airbnb blogging and uploading photos. It’s so fucking slow. I timed the upload speed and this is roughly how long it takes to upload a single photo. So….it seems like it would take roughly two hours just to post one page of blogging per day…and I can’t just set it to run and ignore since it’ll throw an error at some point with random photos missing. I guess I’ll just upload like 15 photos at a time and deal with it. Blah.

RL went to the market and got me some of this on a whim.

We left the kids in the TV den and went out to our local pub across the street for a beer. They have FAST wifi here…maybe I’ll come here another time to upload the blog while I drink a beer.

Look at this speed at the pub. Why can’t I have this at the airbnb that’s just a stones throw away.

To be continued at London 2026 Day 3.
