Continued from Florence(Pisa) 2026 Day 3.

RL took this photo.

Ipad time while eating breakfast. Our last day for this long trip, too long. I think all of us agreed that next summer, we’ll do a 2 week trip instead of a 3 week one. We are all feeling homesick.

Airbnbs and having to take out your own trash. I think my favorite preference is to stay at apartments run like a hotel. I just want someone to throw out my trash for me and not have to do that when I check out.

Got a timed entry at 11am, so here we go. We are walking towards the Arno river, maybe a short 10min walk. I really think I would enjoy Florence a lot more if there were maybe 1/4 of the people here. Is it better in the shoulder season?

Piazza della Signoria with the castle building being Palzaao Vecchio. This is the historic center of Florence, and where the Uffizi Gallery is located, and where we are visiting at 11am.

LKL looked at this screen and said, “Look, World Cup!” Haha. He associates flags from different nations with the World Cup, I guess that’s one way to look at it.

Another Neptune statue.

Nice penis…

I know I saw this statue somewhere else before.

Our timed entry is at 11am, so we won’t have a chance to eat lunch when we get hungry, so a pre-lunch before we go into Uffizi.

Eating in the alleyway because it’s shaded over here.

LKL pointed this out to me to take a photo of. Good thing he didn’t try to read what it says.

Oh, randomly discovery. There’s a wine window in this little alley that we are eating in while hiding from the sun.

And also a wall of lipsticks.

Alright, time to go into Uffizi. Not looking forward to all the crowds.

Oh, is that so…great.

They a pretty stringent about security here. I had a large bottle of water and they made me throw it out. Only 500ml bottles allowed, so I guess we don’t have water anymore in this hot day and hot museum. Lame.

You start Uffizi by climbing to the very top and work your way down.

Oh, reminds me of myself holding LKL and dunking him under the water fountain in Siena.

Lots of people already.

Good dog.

It’s all about the ceilings.

Loves to grab boobs.

Oh look, it’s Botticelli.

And more Botticelli on the other side in this very crowded room.

I guess the Birth of Venus is probably the most famous painting that I can think of here.

I mean…it’s nice, but why is this deemed nicer than other paintings here?

This is cool. That’s all cut stone.

Cool flooring, just don’t drop anything as you’ll never find it.

Doesn’t seem comfortable.

Lots of people here. This is the corridor that leads to all the galleries on the left. It’s warm in here.

Is he pulling him out or pushing him under?

I like this one, don’t even know who painted it.

Tiny detailed painting.

da Vinci has a certain style. The kids and I talked about Ninja Turtles and how we are seeing all of their works here in Florence. Donatello’s works are harder to see, but I’m sure we’ve seen some here and there.

Hahaha.

Haha.

There’s a cafe here, but of course it’s overrun and overcrowded. We didn’t even attempt to check it out.

After the cafe, there’s a route to the exit for people who are done and don’t want to see anymore. Most of the tour groups probably went this route. We decided to brave it a little bit more and see more of the galleries.

RL liked this painted.

It’s nice because the crowd died down in this second half significantly. What’s not so nice is that the kids are now all tired and bored and done.
To be continued at Florence 2026 Day 4 Part 2.
