Continued from Taiwan Day 4 Part 2.

Woke up to a morning with blue skies and no rain. Nice. The rooms didn’t have AC so we slept with a window open, good thing they had screens. Wasn’t too bad sleeping actually.

Breakfast buffet. Just like dinner, this buffet is legit.

Our driver will pick us up in a vehicle to head down the mountain at noon. So this means we’ve got the morning to do some light hiking. Awesome that the weather is cooperating and it’s not raining. Also nice that we are high and the air is relatively cool. One of the trailheads start right outside of our hotel entrance.

Immediately, I’m enjoying this hike. It’s beautiful out here.

Ah gong immediately starts complaining about all the stairs. He keeps on saying we are going the wrong way and the right way has no stairs…

So much moss. Love it.

Derrr…

A major landslide that closed down part of the rail line. We could see this same landslide from our hotel.

Vagina?

Steps and more steps. Such a beautiful forest, we are all really enjoying the hike. Well, except for ah gong who has been complaining about the stairs.

KL Points.

Elder Sister Pond.

Ah Gong hate physical activities, but today he’s willing to come along for the hike to try to recreate a photo. When I was a baby, there’s a photo of me kissing my grandpa here at the two sisters pond, and that’s the photo we will try to create today. Except, Ah Gong now has 3 grandkids, so he will have to recreate it 3 times.

The one with Little KL didn’t turn out good enough, so we’ll attempt recreate it, yet again in a bit.

Little KL poits.

Look!!!! Tadpoles.

Recreation successful.

Lots and lots of tadpoles in this pond.

Is that a baby dragon fly?

Frog!

Surprised there’s a weight limit on these bridges. They seem very sturdy…also is it 5 Taiwanese or 5 Americans?

KL photographs.

While RL photographs KL.

Yeah, I know there’s another one like this above, but I like them both for different reasons.

RL taking photos of flowers.

Reached a rest area with some shops and a temple.

Rice cooked inside bamboo.

Snacks for everyone.

RL eating a sweet purple potato.

After our midway stop for snacks and some rest, ah gong and ah ma went a shorter way back to our hotel while the rest of us took a longer way to check out a boardwalk area with giant cypresses.

That’s a massive tree. Not quite like sequoias, but still a massive tree.
